What was Vogue World's Milan runway show?

The runway show about Italian craftsmanship has taken the spotlight for the intended yet wrong (yet all so right) reasons. The show's theme was essentially robots versus humans: a showcase on the importance and irreplaceable art of human, specifically Italian, craftsmanship; however, the show has gone vial for introducing the show with robots. While the creative director explains - or defends - that this was entirely the point, to cause a stir, it failed to prove the point: that humans will win in the face of technology.
His argument also fails given that people are already informed that the show was funded by OpenAI and Meta.

Unfortunately, that tells us that the alleged top fashion magazine in the world has sold its soul to robots, rather than the humans it claims to celebrate. There is a clear dissonance in the way the robots encourage the audience to clap for them; and some do, but some clearly see how uncomfortable this is. That is because the audience is being asked to clap for their sponsors: OpenAI and Meta glasses. One is destroying the environment, and the other has created a tool for creeps to film without consent.
Then of course, when you consider this in the context of the current job market having dwindled into a another recession, and Gen-Z deals with yet another job market crisis, we find a powerful combination that reads: completely and utterly disconnected and out-of-touch with "the world".

In its craftsmanship representations, there were fun displays of color, different usages of materials and interesting designs, but the show was fundamentally cheesy, messy, and egotistical between the nepo-baby personnages and the 80s bodycon designs for the trio in "Vogue". As I saw the videos through my feed, what I noticed immediately was the brainrot content of self-admiration. Before I could blink, I felt like I was wasting away watching people with a vanity that shows one is all too aware of how to pose for social media rather than for the art; rather than trying to reach an artistic audience, it targets an audience that is entertained by a parasocial relationship with such figures, living most of their days in the simulacra of instagram.
